Good programs don't become great programs without fantastic beta testers!

We're very fortunate in that during the development process, from April 2009 - October 2009, we had the support of several outstanding archers. Many are known on Archery Talk (AT) by their handle in quotes. We can't thank these fantastic people enough for their support this year, it's been truly invaluable.

"Pragmatic Lee" Peedin or Prag for short, is the only programmer in this rag tag bunch of target archers. Prag has helped us understand the finer points about target archery and the use of the "Marks Card". Prag has also contributed most of the code found on our downloads page. He's a Rexx programming addict always looking for an interesting project. As soon as the first version of the Archer's Marks ballistics engine was completed Prag strongly pressed for a Windows command line version. We relented and within a few weeks he had wrapped some Rexx around it and generate a simple Windows marks card program that will soon be available on the downloads page.

Dave "Macaholic" Palmer was the second Archer's Mark user outside of the development team. Mac provided some valuable feedback during the NC Field Archery Tournament in late August. Several posts followed this event on AT where Mac showed off his "Secret Weapon". It was at this event that both Mac and Lee used Archer's Mark in competition for the first time. This was also the first time angled cut marks were supported and Mac provided important feedback regarding this functionality.

Joe "Jarlicker" Rozmus is likely one of the best target archers in North Carolina and one of the top archers in the US. During development Joe helped us understand and appreciate parallax. He walked us through his perspective on cut marks and most importantly he tested the high end of our marks.

Chris "Rimfire" Schweitzer, note the last name, he's only 13 yet he shoots with all the big boys, and is never at a loss for sharing his opinion, and providing feedback. Whenever he's at the range he keeps his iTouch with Archer's Mark in his quiver or he snakes my iPhone depending on whichever has the most current code loaded. Chris shoots with the shortest draw length of anyone in our group, and only a 38 lbs. draw weight so he has really tested the bottom end of our marks code. With Archer's Mark he regularly strikes the five dot at 80 yards.

"Fast Eddie" Walters - some call him "Indoor Eddie." Every Tuesday night since April he's had to hear about Archer's Mark progress and has regularly asked "it will be done the end of what month?" Although Eddie only shoots indoors at 20 yards and has little use for Archer's Mark he has provided invaluable insights into how people shoot, and what will and won't work. His insights and advice are greatly appreciated.

Jennifer "Prag Jr." Peedin - also called Princess Chicken Wing (PCW), is a virtual VP of Social Networking. PCW handles managing our image on Facebook, and other social networking sites. She's also the only female member of the NOX Eddie Shooting Team.

Finally, our families. They have to hear about our incessant rambling regarding archery, Archer's Mark, ballistics, trigonometry, programming bugs/problems with the iPhone platform... We love them all and could never have gotten through this without their help and support.

Thank you all.
